Summer 2009!

Hello Everyone!
It has officially been forever since we last touched base with everyone. I am now handing over the blog to Krisie Southern who will, I promise, be way more entertaining then I am. Krisie has now been my barn manager for the last year and has promised to stay on board for one more year before leaving us to go to school. I roped her in by promising her the ride on the very talented, very naughty Matus for her remaining year.

The barn has taken off since we returned from Aiken. I feel like I have been buying new horses for everyone in the barn and we now have some pretty exciting talent at Angelica Run Farm. Connor Husain retired his horse Ozzie and has bought Folk Lore "Story" from Allison Springer. The new pair has started out very strong and are a promising pair to watch in the future. Erica Jacquay just competed Carrie at USPC Nationals and finished 9th individually out of a huge Novice division. Ann Bellinger has retired Tangler after a strong Training finish at Rubicon and bought the young and talented Foggy a 6yr Grey TB mare. Erin Murphy placed 3rd at CDCTA in her first Training and is now looking for a young riders horse to keep moving up the levels with. Angelica Run sent a Dressage Team to the Junior Dressage Championships at Morven Park. Amy G, Krisie S, Izzy, and Katie Hansen all competed for the Eventing team and finished with the bronze medal. Amy is sadly leaving us with Ricky where they will be recieving a much higher education at Notre Dame. Krisie has been jumping Matus again for the first time since his EPM diagnosis. They will be competing BN/Novice this fall. Lauren is continueing the search for her next event horse and has been riding Tally for "PETER" while has been away at Drama camp. Both Kaitlyn and Courtney Detore have been riding with me this season and their horses have been going so well!

My horses have had some ups and downs this season. Tika when she has been healthy has been her normal superstar self. She had a very nasty cellulitis infection that spread to her stifle where she had to have surgery and 3 months off. She has started back with strong finishes at the two Maryland Horse Trials. Since we missed Bromont we will be aiming for the CCI** at Fairhill again and moving up to some advanced Horse Trials. Argento is the rising star in the barn winning 2 of his last four training and finishing 2nd in the other two. His dressage scores have been 24, 26, 27, and 28 in his last few dressage tests.

We took the whole barn to the Middleburg Combined Test this past weekend.
Tika- Intermediate- 1st
Ricky and Amy- Prelim- 4th
Argie- Training- 1st (0nly score of the whole show in the 20's)
Cocoa- Training- 2nd
River and Krisie- Open Novice- 1st (despite falling off across the finish line =)
Story and Connor- JR Novice- 1st ( low score junior of the whole show)
Matus and Krisie- Beginner Novice- 2nd
and our new boarder Caroline and her pony Sam won the Baby Novice!!!

All together out of 8 horses we had 5 wins, 2 seconds, and a 4th. Well DONE ANGELICA!

Alright so you now we have the new website and you will be reading a very entertaining blog from the one and only Krisie. We have been working with new sponsors (Andis, Kangen Water) and we have many new talented horses and riders. Stay tuned and I PROMISE we will keep blogging!
