Rubicon and Jumper Show

I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to everyone. Alot has happened since the last post and I could not be happier with the way our season ended for both my horses and my students.

Rubicon Horse Trials:
Amy, Petie, Erin, and Krisie all competed at the Rubicon Horse Trials in early Nov. Amy finished 6th in the Preliminary division. She had a BEAUTIFUL show jumping and ended with a very positive weekend. Erin and Cocoa were our stars of the weekend scoring a 29 in dressage and finishing second in the Novice division. Cocoa has had some health issues this year so to see her looking so positive and happy in all three phases was the highlight of the weekend. Erin could not have ridden her better and she learned alot about how she has to ride Cocoa in competition. Petie and Talli had a great weekend finishing in the top 10 in the Novice division and Krisie competed in her first recognized horse trials at the Novice level on Argie. Despite two rails Krisie rose to the occasion taking a very green horse around a challenging Novice course.

Frying Pan Jumper Show
Angelica Run dominated the Frying Pan Jumpers! With over 30 people in some of the classes our riders took champion in three our of the four divisions. Erin Murphy and Cocoa were champion in the 2'9 division besting 28 people. They did not have any faults in all four rounds and three jump offs. Petie and Talli took champion in the Childrens Jumpers and Amy and Ricky were champion in the high jumpers which did not end until 9:30 at night. We also had five other riders at the show who all placed in various divisions. Izzy and Owen had awesome rounds and placed in their two classes. Owen looked very excited to be back out and Izzy did a great job keeping him quiet. Lauren and Gracie were fourth in their class and made alot of progress in all of their rounds. Tess and Liza our newest riders took their new horses TC and Buddy. Tess was 5th and 6th in her classes with Buddy. Liza and TC were 6th in one of their classes and made it to the jump off having beautiful and fast rounds. Krisie and Argie were 5th in the class that they did making many improvements to young Argie's show jumping.

We had the barn bonfire and despite the rain had a fantastic time as usual. We have a new addition to the barn. Congrats to the Edgemond family and to (little) Amy for her new horse Joy. Joy came last week and is a Dutch Warmblood mare. I am so excited for little Amy and hope that they have a great partnership.

We now set our sights on Aiken. We will be leaving Jan. 17 and heading to Full Gallop farm. I will be taking my three horses, Ricky, Gracie, and Cocoa. Krisie and Sallie Spenard will stay down there with me for the six weeks. The girls will fly down on the weekends to compete and I will keep the horses going during the week. This would not be possible without the Murphy family's private plane and fantastic grandfather who will help us with all of our traveling!

I promise I will not take as long to update next time!
