End of Summer

The summer is now coming to an end and everyone at Angelica is now gearing up for an exciting fall season.  Tika and Argie competed at Fair Hill before I left for a week long (much needed) vacation.  Tika placed 6th in the Intermediate with an unfortunately over the top dressage test but a brilliant XC.  Little baby Argie pulled off another win in the Open Training ending on his dressage score of 27. Tika's plans for the fall include the upcoming Loudoun Horse Trials followed by Seneca Valley Horse Trials.  She will then compete in the CIC** at Plantation Field, Morven Park Horse Trials, and then the Fair Hill CCI** in October.  We had to delay our move up to advanced due to Tika's summer stifle surgery.  I hope to move her up in Aiken and aim for either the Bromont CCI*** or the Jersey CCI***.  Little baby Argie will hopefully round out his fall season with a Preliminary or two with hopes of a Spring CCI*.

The rest of the Angelica Run team is about to end the working student summer and head back to school.  Connor, Krisie, and Erin will be preparing for Loudoun Horse Trials and Seneca Horse Trials.  Petie had a great showing at Difficult Run Horse Trials and Lauren is vetting a hopeful horse this week. Ann Bellinger will be starting the season with her new horse Foggy at some schooling shows and aiming for the recognized circuit this fall.  Courtney Detore and our newest boarder Caroline Muller will be aiming for some unrecognized events in the near future and both girls and ponies will be looking forward to a possible beginner novice in the late fall. After a very successful showing at Novice Nationals, Erica will be moving Carrie back up to Training.  Our two off the farm Angelica Runners, Izzy and Lisa, will be joining us in all of the recognized horse trials this fall at the Novice level. Our very own Built Fjord Tuff dominated with Tammy at the Fjord show being the highest placed Fjord Gelding in the confirmation classes and winning the riding test.

To end this entry I would like to welcome Jackie Imholte to the Angelica Run Team.  She will be joining us in September with her horse Ty.  Finally, I would love to tell everyone that aside from planning my 2009-2010 competition season I will also now be planning a wedding.  Clayton and I got engaged early July and I am the luckiest girl in the world.
